Flight Delays & Boarding

Airlines must treat passengers as customers, not just cargo.
Tip: Always ask for the 'Passenger Charter' booklet at the airline counter if they refuse to help.
- Cancellation: If the flight is cancelled, you have the right to a full refund OR an alternative flight PLUS a free meal.
- Overbooking: If you are denied boarding due to overbooking, the airline must pay you up to Rs 20,000 as compensation.
- Long Delays: If a flight is delayed by 6+ hours, the airline must provide free hotel accommodation.

The world's largest railway network has specific rules for your comfort.
Fact: If you have a waiting list ticket, you cannot enter the reserved coach, but you have the right to a full refund if you don't travel.
- No TTE After 10 PM: A TTE cannot check your ticket or disturb you after 10:00 PM (unless you board after that time).
- Refund for Delay: If the train is delayed by more than 3 hours, you can cancel your ticket and get a FULL REFUND (no deduction).
- Middle Berth: The middle berth can only be kept open between 10:00 PM and 06:00 AM.

Toll Plaza Rules

Fast-tracking your journey through Bharat's highways.
- The 100-Meter Rule: If the queue of vehicles at a toll plaza is more than 100 meters, vehicles should be allowed to pass for free (to clear the congestion).
- The 10-Second Rule: If the service time per vehicle is more than 10 seconds, you are entitled to a free pass until the queue is cleared.
- Right to Water/Toilet: Every toll plaza must provide clean drinking water and toilet facilities for free.

Hotel & Stay Rights
Law/Section: The Serais Act / Art 21
Your privacy and basic needs are protected even when you are away from home.
- Unmarried Couples: There is NO law in Bharat that prohibits unmarried couples from staying in a hotel. Any refusal is 'Moral Policing' and can be challenged.
- Free Water/Washroom: Under the Serais Act, any person can walk into any hotel (even 5-star) and ask for free drinking water or to use the washroom.
- Right to Privacy: The hotel staff cannot enter your room without your permission except in an emergency.
