    A daughter has the EXACT SAME rights to ancestral property as a son. She is a 'Coparcener' from birth.

    Law/Section: Section 14 of Hindu Succession Act

    Any gift, jewelry, or property given to a woman before, during, or after marriage is her ABSOLUTE property.

    Tip: Always keep a list and photos of jewelry received during the wedding.

    • The husband or in-laws have NO right to use or keep Stridhan without her permission.
    • She can sell, gift, or use her Stridhan however she likes.
    • In case of separation, she has the right to get her Stridhan back.
