BNS Section 347: (1) Counterfeiting a property mark (Legacy IPC Section 483)

Counterfeiting a property mark used by another, with intent to cause damage or injury
- Bailable Status: Bailable (Bail is a legal right — granted at police station)
- Cognizable Status: Non-cognizable (Police cannot arrest without warrant)
- Triable Court: Any Magistrate
- Official Punishment: Imprisonment for 2 years, or fine, or both
Counterfeiting a property mark used by a public servant, or any mark used by him to denote the manufacture, quality, etc., of any property
- Bailable Status: Bailable (Bail is a legal right — granted at police station)
- Cognizable Status: Non-cognizable (Police cannot arrest without warrant)
- Triable Court: Magistrate of the first class
- Official Punishment: Imprisonment for 3 years and fine
