BNS Section 332: (a) House-trespass in order to commit offence punishable with death (Legacy IPC Section 449)

House-trespass in order to commit any offence punishable with death
- Bailable Status: Non-bailable (Bail can only be granted by the Judiciary)
- Cognizable Status: Cognizable (Police can arrest without warrant)
- Triable Court: Court of Session
- Official Punishment: Imprisonment for life, or rigorous imprisonment not exceeding 10 years, and fine

- Bailable Status: Non-bailable (Bail can only be granted by the Judiciary)
- Cognizable Status: Cognizable (Police can arrest without warrant)
- Triable Court: Court of Session
- Official Punishment: Imprisonment extending up to 10 years and fine
House-trespass in order to commit any offence punishable with imprisonment (general case)
- Bailable Status: Bailable (Bail is a legal right — granted at police station)
- Cognizable Status: Cognizable (Police can arrest without warrant)
- Triable Court: Any Magistrate
- Official Punishment: Imprisonment extending up to 2 years, or fine, or both
