BNS Section 210: Omission to produce document or electronic record to public servant by person, legally bound to produce it (Legacy IPC Section 175)

Omission to produce

  • Bailable Status: Bailable (Bail is a legal right — granted at police station)
  • Cognizable Status: Non-cognizable (Police cannot arrest without warrant)
  • Triable Court: Any Magistrate
  • Official Punishment: Simple imprisonment fordocument to public1 month, or fine ofoffence is committed, servant by person legally5,000 rupees, or both.subject to the provisions bound to produce or deliverof Chapter XXVIII; or, it.if not committed, in a Court, any Magistrate
